HOUSTON -- A man was shot and killed late Tuesday after he and his girlfriend were ambushed in a southeast Houston apartment complex, according to police.
Police said the couple was returning home to the Villa Americana apartments in the 5900 block of Selinsky around 11:30 p.m., where several men were waiting.
As the couple pulled into the parking lot, police said the group of men opened fire before fleeing on foot.
The boyfriend was shot several times and died in the parking lot, but his girlfriend was not hit. She told police she thought one of the suspects could be an ex-boyfriend.
Police said the scene was littered with bullet holes and shell casings from multiple weapons.
