HOUSTON -- Houston's East End had a party on Friday to celebrate a major facelift to the neighborhood.

"I think it's a wonderful, wonderful thing for the East End," said business owner Anna Hernandez.

The party included food, fun and groups of people dancing in the community. Other business owners were excited for all the visitors.

Leaders cutting ribbons insisted that it's part of a long-term renewal for the East End, making streets better and safer.
