COLUMBUS, Texas – Schools in Columbus were placed on a brief lockdown Wednesday morning after an unspecified threat, according to police.

An "angry male" called Columbus High School and made the threat.

The middle and elementary schools were also put on lockdown, as a precaution.

Columbus police said the lockdown was lifted shortly before noon.
