COLORADO COUNTY -- A Colorado County trooper is in stable condition after being hit by a car on Monday.
Officials said the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in Colorado County at FM 102 at Wilson Hill Road.
Authorities said the trooper had been working an accident that occurred earlier. As he was getting back in his car, a vehicle slid on the wet pavement and hit him.
The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to Columbus Hospital.
The trooper was first taken to Oak Bend Hospital, but was later transferred to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center Monday evening.
Officials said the driver was not intoxicated. There’s no word if he’ll face any charges.
