HOUSTON — Search and rescue crews found a body Thursday afternoon believed to be that of a Houston man who had gone missing Wednesday in the West Bay.
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter had been searching the area since a good Samaritan found a boat running by itself with just a dog in it.
While officials have not identified the body found floating in the water, they believe it to be 50-year-old Lee Havemann, of Houston.
Lt. Matthew Walter with the Galveston Police Department said that Havemann’s wallet, cell phone and a life preserver were in the boat.
The USCG said there’s no indication of foul play.
