SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A 13-year-old Houston-area boy remains hospitalized in Syracuse nearly a month after his family’s van crashed in central New York, killing his grandmother and injuring his mother and six siblings.
Relatives say Joshua Hodson has been moved out of the intensive care unit where he has been treated since the July 14 crash on the Thruway near Herkimer. State police say Jennifer Hodson, her 67-year-old mother and Hodson’s seven children were headed from the Syracuse area to Massachusetts when their van crashed and overturned.
Hodson’s mother, Tanya Evans, was killed in the crash. Hodson and all seven children, ages 4 to 16, were injured. Most were release from Syracuse hospitals after a few days, but 14-year-old Christina wasn’t released until last Thursday.
The Hodson’s are from the Houston suburb of Clear Lake.
