HUFFMAN, Texas -- A police chase led to the lockdown of Hargrave High School northeast of Houston late Thursday morning, officials said.

Huffman Middle School was also placed on lockdown. Both campuses are part of the Huffman Independent School District.

The chase started after a robbery near FM 2100 and Wolf Road in northeast Harris County, deputies said.

The driver of the car bailed from thevehicle not far from the schools, leading to the lockdown.

Deputies set up a perimeter and conducted a search. They interviewed the two passengers, but the driver is still on the run.

The lockdown was lifted prior to the end of the school day.
