MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas —- A holdup that occurred in broad daylight Sunday afternoon led to a high-speed chase and an eventual takedown of the suspects.

Adrian Thedford, 22, Leonard Bledsoe, 24, Lance Dobbins, 35, and Gregory Portis, 22, are charged with aggravated robbery and remain in the Montgomery County Jail.

The holdup began at an AT&T store located in the 2200 block of Rayford Road in Montgomery County.

Authorities said around 3:30 p.m., three armed suspects walked inside and demanded money and cell phones. They left and got into a blue minivan driven by a fourth suspect.

Authorities spotted the vehicle heading south of I-45 and gave chase. The van struck two other vehicles and then wrecked at Rankin and Ella Road.

Authorities apprehended one suspect on the spot. The other suspects got out and ran. Police K-9 units helped to corner them. One suspect was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The other three suspects were all placed in custody.

Witnesses who saw the pursuit come to an end described a crazy scene.

“We were just sitting here having dinner,” said Yvette Hall. “And we heard a really loud commotion. And we came outside and this is what we saw. All of this was going on outside right in front of the house.”

Officials with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office credited multiple agencies for bringing about a successful outcome.

“Our ability to communicate with each other helped out a lot and just the deputies and officers being in the right place at the right time,” said Deputy Matt Rodriguez. “We don’t downplay luck when this happens. We’ll take anything we can get to catch the bad guys.”

There was one customer and two employees in the store when the robbery occurred. None of them were hurt. And none of the other motorists received any injuries.
