FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – The city of Friendswood is trying to knock down rumors that its about to euthanize animals to do repairs on its shelter.

An e-mail was making the rounds saying dogs will be put down and cats will be left outside while the shelter puts in new flooring.

The shelter said that’s not true. They are renovating, but during that time cats will be put in offices and the dogs will be temporarily housed at other local shelters.

The repairs were schedule to be completed through the month of July.
