HOUSTON – A driver was rushed to the hospital overnight after their car swerved off Highway 288, hit some trees, and then flipped.
The Houston Police Department said the crash occurred around midnight Tuesday in the northbound lanes of 288 near the South Loop.
HPD said it appeared the driver failed to notice a curve in the freeway and went into a grassy embankment at a high rate of speed.
The driver hit several trees, causing their vehicle to flip.
The driver was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
