HOUSTON -– A woman was sent to the hospital after she crashed her car into a freeway divider along the West Loop and went airborne, hitting a pickup truck, police said.
The accident happened at the exit ramp for the Katy Freeway around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
Houston police said the woman struck the rubber barrels in the exit ramp, sending her car flying. The vehicle landed on top of a pickup truck’s hood before coming back down to the ground.
The pickup’s driver was not hurt, but the woman in the car was trapped against the concrete barrier. Firefighters freed her from the wreckage and sent her to the hospital in stable condition.
Police said the investigation into the cause of the incident was ongoing.
