HOUSTON—An employee was bitten during a fight after catching a person attempting to steal from a CVS Pharmacy in southwest Houston Wednesday morning.

According to Houston police, the woman walked into the store on Buffalo Speedway at Main around 10:30 a.m. She went straight to the cosmetic center and began loading her purse with goods. After that, she walked over to the area near the soaps and did the same.

When an employee tried to stop her, a male suspect ran inside and began to fight with the employee. The man bit the worker’s arm during the scuffle, then both suspects fled in a gold Avalon, license plate number DBY7548.

The suspects remain on the loose, but police said the woman left behind her bag.

The brazen attempted robbery in the middle of the day, is a crime, police said is happening more often.

"I think it's easy to walk in, take something off the shelf. Run out and jump in the car and get away,” said HPD Lt. Jackson.

While police would normally consider the crime shoplifting, they plan on charging the criminals with robbery because of the violence that ensued.

"The male suspect was screaming to the female to go into his trunk and get a gun," said Jackson.
