HOUSTON – Police said a homeowner in The Heights grabbed his gun and fired a warning shot, scaring off a burglary suspect who was later caught.
It happened just after 1 a.m. Monday at a home on 5th near Columbia, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said a male homeowner heard a noise and saw a male breaking into his pickup truck. After firing a shot, the suspect ran away.
Police conducted a short search of the neighborhood and found the suspect nearby.
The man may be responsible for other area burglaries, police said.
