WEBSTER, Texas – Family and friends are grieving the loss of a woman who was shot and killed Saturday afternoon, and praying for the recovery of another.
Police say Germain Jimenez was confronted by Jessica Davies and Angel Thomas in the parking garage of the Hidden Lakes apartment complex at 900 Henderson Road in Webster.
Davies’ younger sister, Lindsay, had recently broken up with Jimenez and police said he was harassing her.
As the women were leaving the apartment, police said Jimenez followed them to their car and started shooting.
Davies was shot at least five times and ended up on the ground. Thomas was shot inside the car.
Webster police said Jimenez then ran over Davies and calmly lit a cigarette.
There was a short chase until Jimenez pulled into a strip mall at Egret Bay Drive and Nasa Parkway. As the officer approached his car, he discovered Jimenez dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Webster Police Chief Ray Smiley said Lindsay had received threatening text messages.
“In the past week, the suspect sent over a hundred text messages to the ex-girlfriend, “ said Chief Smiley.
Houston police also responded to a disturbance at her workplace on Saturday, but no one was arrested.
Lindsay later told her sister about the incident and that’s when the women decided the confront Jimenez.
Both women were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
Davies died from her injuries. Thomas is listed in critical condition.
Andrew Johnson fought back tears as he talked about two of his best friends.
“Jess, I love you and will miss you more than you know,” said Johnson. “Angel, just hang in there.”
