HOUSTON --- The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has filed a bond forfeiture on the Crosby car dealer who calls himself the “Finnisher.”

Rik Melartin is facing multiple charges of sexual assault of a minor.

The move to revoke his bond comes after his ankle monitoring bracelet kept failing apparently because he refused to keep the device properly charged, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office said.

Melartin is a former Olympian from Finland. He made headlines when he pulled a gun on a robber in Bellaire. He later incorporated the name ‘The Finnisher’ into his car ads for John Keating Chevrolet.

Melartin is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 30.
