GALVESTON, Texas — Four men were rescued on Labor Day after their boat capsized underneath the Galveston Causeway, Peter Davis, chief of the Galveston Island Beach Patrol, said.
The 18-foot boat hit a rock while the four Houston men were riding Monday afternoon. A hole was punched into the boat, partially sinking the vessel.
The men went to a piling to wait for rescue and tied the sinking boat to the piling, Davis said.
The Coast Guard recovered the boat. No injuries were reported.
