HOUSTON – Firefighters responded to a truck fire on Highway 290 during the morning rush hour commute Wednesday.
It was shortly after 6:30 a.m. Air 11 captured aerial views of huge flames shooting from the dump truck, which appeared to be carrying a large load of broken concrete.
Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department were able to knock out the fire a few minutes after arriving on the scene.
There was no early report of any injuries, but it did not appear any other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Houston Transtar reported two inbound main lanes of the freeway had to be shut down at Beltway 8 for about 30 minutes.
