Baytown police: Fight over Lone Star Card leads to stabbing

BAYTOWN, Texas –- Police in Baytown said an overnight stabbing was the result of a fight over a missing food assistance Lone Star Card.

It happened at a home in the 200 block of Stewart Street around 11:15 p.m. Monday.

Police said a man renting a room at the address got into a fight with one of the other residents when he couldn’t find the card. The suspect allegedly grabbed a 12-inch knife and stabbed and sliced the victim.

Police said the suspect was walking back to his room when officers arrived and took him into custody.

The victim was sent to the hospital by LifeFlight  and was expected to survive.
