HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A bank robbery suspect is on the run after he tossed a tracking device out of his escape vehicle in northwest Harris County, deputy constables said.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said the robbery happened around 7 a.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo on Louetta Road at Grant Road.
Witnesses said a robber dressed in black pointed a gun at a teller and demanded money. He then fled the scene, constables said.
Several miles away, the suspect spotted a tracking device the teller slipped him, and he threw it into the bed of a parked pickup truck on Taub Street.
Officials said they were able to track the suspect on Beltway 8 where he exited at Fairbanks.
A more detailed description of the suspect and his escape vehicle were not provided. It was also not known how much money the suspect escaped with.
No injuries were reported.
