HOUSTON—Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the body of a woman who had been missing for nearly two months in a parking garage in The Woodlands.
Police said a deputy looking for suspects in a reported domestic fight on Thursday night found the car with the body of the 26-year-old woman inside.
After investigating further Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies identified the woman as having been reported missing on June 11.
The body was severely decomposed.
Some people who use the garage said they can’t believe that a car sat for nearly two months, let alone a car with a body inside.
”I am surprised that there wasn’t an odor or something,” said Paul Lancaster. He is not the only one that didn’t notice.
Another woman who uses the garage every day and parks only on the second floor said she could not believe it either.
”If it was facing this way I could see that because I don’t pay attention to anything on this side,” she said.
The garage is owned by the Marriott. Hotel management said they are as surprised as anyone, mainly because the garage is heavily patrolled daily and cleaned weekly.
As recently as Tuesday the garage was at full capacity for a concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell pavilion a block away.
Autopsy results are pending.
