HOUSTON – A baby who was hit by a car Monday after a collision on a southeast Houston street died from his injuries.
The 7-month-old boy and his 18-year-old mother were walking in the 8500 block of Martin Luther King Street near Thrush at about 1 p.m. when two vehicles collided.
Police said the driver of a tan Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King when he attempted to turn eastbound onto Thrush and struck a black Buick Rivera traveling northbound. The collision pushed the Buick into the mother and her child.
Both were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where the infant was pronounced dead.
The child’s identity was not released.
No charges have been filed, but police said their investigation continues.
