HOUSTON – A 5-month-old baby girl was found alive and well, hidden underneath a bed in a north Houston apartment where two people were shot to death and another was critically injured Wednesday evening, according to Houston police.

Police responded to a call at the Pine Lakes Apartments in the 1300 block of Greens Parkway at Sharmon around 6 p.m. A concerned man went to the residence to check on his coworker who did not show up for work. Finding the door open, he went inside and saw blood on the bedroom walls. He immediately called police.

When police entered the third-floor unit they found the three victims. A man and a woman were dead, both with gunshot wounds to the head. Another man, who had also been shot in the head, was clinging to life. He was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.

More shockingly, they found an infant in a confined space under the bed. Someone placed her there to get her out of harm’s way.

The gunman remains on the loose.
