HOUSTON—A stolen truck suspect who refused to give up even after blowing out his tires was captured after a short, but wild, chase ended in northwest Houston early Friday.

Harris County Sheriff’s deputies received a call that a pickup truck was stolen from a construction site on West Montgomery at West Mount Houston around midnight.

An HPD unit spotted the truck near Little York and attempted to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop. The suspect led officers on a chase, even going the wrong way on North Shepherd, before turning on Dewalt.

The truck was riding on rims by that time and the driver, not being able to drive further, hopped out and ran on foot.

Officers were able to catch up to the suspect on Dewalt near Veterans Memorial and took him into custody.
