GALVESTON, Texas — Authorities have given the all-clear after a three-hour bomb scare at the federal building on 25th Street downtown.

A suspicious object found by security personal at the Federal Courthouse, which also houses the main post office, in Galveston had caused the courthouse and neighboring businesses and roads to be closed while police investigated, said Alicia Cahill, public information officer for the city of Galveston.

Security personnel at the courthouse found the suspicious object before the building opened to the public this morning. They called the Galveston Police department at 7:27 a.m., Cahill said.
