HOUSTON --The 13th annual Astros Opening Day Street Festival began Tuesday at noon and wrapped up at game time.
The festival was on the Crawford Street side of the ball park. It included food trucks, games and live music.
Fans who attended said they were hoping for a season in which the team wins at least half its games.
One man named Philippe came to the street party in a snazzy summer suit, but he wore no shirt. He said it was to help the team.
"I'm very super superstitious and I never wear a shirt on opening day," he said.
If he wore won, the team would lose, he said.
The festival was free, but tickets were not. Standing room only tickets for the night's opener against the Yankees were $20 at the box office.
The most expensive seats still available were on the lower level behind third base. They cost $212.
