HOUSTON - Another Radio Shack robbery happened Friday afternoon, but the armed suspects wearing masks didn’t get away with anything, police said.
The attempted robbery happened at Taylor and the Katy Freeway where at least two armed men walked in the store around 1:30 p.m.
The store employees were in the backroom and saw them on surveillance cameras so they ran out the back door. With no employees inside the suspects couldn’t get to the phones locked up in the back or into the cash register.
Investigators believe these same suspects using a different vehicle then robbed a T-Mobile store in the 2400 block of Fulton near downtown.
“The word here from these employees is that three suspects with guns and wearing hoodies came into this location requesting cell phones and cash,” Sgt. C. Richards, with the Houston Police Department, said.
Investigators are trying to find out who these suspects are selling the stolen phones to. Phones they believe that are going overseas.
