HOUSTON – A man and a woman were hospitalized after an argument with her boyfriend led to a two-vehicle accident in north Houston early Sunday, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, it happened around midnight near Old Creek and La Fonda.
Investigators said a boyfriend and his girlfriend were arguing near Goodson Airline. The woman got out of her boyfriend’s Toyota and started to walk away.
The woman was walking along the street when another man in a Chevrolet Camaro stopped and picked her up, police said. After the boyfriend saw this, he sped up and bumped the Camaro with his car.
The driver of the Camaro sped up to try to get away, and headed east on Goodson at a high rate of speed. However, he did not realize the road curved and slammed into a tree.
The boyfriend speeding after them was too close and could not stop in time, police said. The Toyota ended up slamming into the back of the Camaro.
Police said the boyfriend got out of his vehicle and started punching the man, who picked up his girlfriend. Then the boyfriend fled the scene on foot.
The driver of the Camaro was transported to the hospital with two broken legs and other injuries, police said. The girlfriend was also transported to the hospital in stable condition.
If HPD finds the boyfriend, he will be charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
