Alleged drunken driver slams into undercover cop in Galveston

GALVESTON — A Houston man faces DWI charges after two wrecks that included slamming into the truck of an undercover sheriff’s office narcotics investigator while he was working a case, Galveston police and county sheriff’s office officials confirmed.

The incident began about 7 p.m. Monday when a black BMW headed south on 45th Street ran a red light and slammed into an SUV as it crossed the intersection at Avenue O, Galveston police Lt. Michael Gray said.

After t-boning the SUV, the driver of the BMW took off, with the owner of the SUV in pursuit. After making a couple of turns, the BMW driver slammed into a Ford F-150 truck at the intersection of 45th Street and Avenue N1/2.
