HOUSTON—Students at Youens Elementary were evacuated Wednesday morning because of smoke in the building, Alief ISD officials said.
Houston firefighters were called to the school after a dump truck backed into a power line. The driver needed assistance getting out safely because a live wire was on the truck.
Power was knocked out of the school, and smoke filled one section of the building when emergency generators kicked on.
No one was hurt.
