HOCKLEY, Texas -- An 18-wheeler with FedEx markings on it crashed in Hockley early Wednesday morning, blocking all inbound lanes of Highway 290 for several hours.

According to Houston TranStar, the accident was reported around 6:26 a.m. at Hegar Road.

The big rig fell onto its side and caught fire. A hazmat team was called in to clean up fuel spilled on the roadway.

All inbound lanes as well as an outbound lane were closed until about 1 p.m.

There was no early word on any injuries involved, but TranStar indicated the truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
