HOUSTON—The arrest of two suspects on Monday may have solved a string of crimes including multiple carjackings and an armed robbery on the University of Houston campus.

La Marque police say that a suspect approached a customer at the Valero gas station in the 2400 block of FM 529 around 7 a.m., threatening her with a gun and demanding her vehicle. The victim reportedly escaped uninjured while the suspect, 39-year-old Terrance Dewayne Anderson, escaped in the car.

Around 9:30 a.m., the same stolen car was used in a robbery at a convenience store on the UH campus, according to authorities. Anderson allegedly went into the store and demanded cash before driving away.

Investigators say they spotted the car around 11:30 a.m. at the Red Carpet Inn at 6161 Gulf Freeway, when Anderson initiated a brief car chase before exiting the vehicle and running away on foot.

A passenger stayed in the car and was arrested.

Anderson then allegedly carjacked another vehicle and remains at large Monday night.

He is already wanted in connection with two other carjackings, one in La Marque and one in League City. Another suspect, 33-year-old Sammie McCardell, is also wanted in connection to those crimes.

A third person was found at the hotel and arrested in connection with the incident.
