HOUSTON—Several families were displaced after a two-alarm fire damaged their homes at an apartment complex in west Houston Monday night.

Houston firefighters were dispatched to the Lodge at West Oaks Apartment, located in the 14900 block of Richmond at Caseta, around 11 p.m. and found fire coming from the chimney of one of the units.

They made a fast attack and knocked out the fire before it could be spread. While only one unit suffered fire damage, the surrounding units suffered smoke and water damages.

Eight families were temporarily displaced and the apartment management and the Red Cross were assisting them.

No one was injured.
