Saving Cents: This weekend, enjoy chocolate, art and Cajun food on the cheap

HOUSTON-Do you and your kids love chocolate?? Well don't miss a free lecture in the Rice University Student Center Friday night at 7 p.m.?

An anthropologist will discuss the origins of chocolate.?

Afterward there will be a free chocolate reception catered by The Chocolate Bar and three other chocolate shops. The event is recommended for older children, teenagers and their parents.

It's also time for Houston's annual Bayou City Art Festival.? It kicks off Saturday at 10 a.m. and runs until Sunday at 6 p.m. at City Hall in downtown Houston.?

This year there will be almost 900 artists and every kind of art you can imagine. There will be dance demonstrations from flamenco to belly dancing.?

Also this year, organizers will have a Kids' Creative Zone tent set up.? Children can make their own interactive art there.? And, of course, there will be food booths galore.

The cost is $10 for anyone over 12.? Kids 12 and under get in free.

And everybody's Cajun in Conroe this weekend at the Cajun Catfish Festival, which begins Friday at 6 p.m. and continues until Sunday at 6 p.m. in Conroe's downtown square. Admission is $10 for those over 12.? Children under 12 get in free.
