HOUSTON - If you're on the quest to find free things to do in Houston, well, you're in luck. This weekend you can catch a movie, a musical and see a water fountain all for free.
The movie "Marley and Me" is one of the best dog films in recent years. You can see it for free on Saturday, August 15, at "Movie under the Moon" in the Sugar Land Town Square in Sugar Land. The square is located at Highway 59 South and Highway 6. The move starts at 9 p.m.
"The Wiz" has "eased on down the road" and into Miller Outdoor Theater in Hermann Park. This is a super kid-friendly stage production that adults can enjoy too. Performances are Saturday, August 15 and Sunday, August at 8 p.m. "The Wiz" is a lively Tony-Award winning rock and soul adaptation of the Wizard of Oz.
Finally, you and the kids can beat the heat at The Woodlands Town Center's new water fountains. Some are set to music. There is also a walk-on plaza where kids can play in an interactive fountain.
While there you can sit on the benches and watch sketch artists, jugglers, and musicians.
Waterway Square is in the heart of downtown in the Woodlands.
