HOUSTON-School begins August 24, so it's time to start back-to-school shopping. The good news is, there are some great deals on school supplies out there.

If you want to take care of school supply shopping without leaving your house, check out a Web site called ReStockIt.com. It sells pens, pencils, art supplies, notebooks, glue, scissors, binders, rulers and calculators. The deals look decent, but sometimes you can find lower prices by going to a physical store.

For instance, a box of 24 Crayola crayons sell on ReStockIt.com for $1.76, but you can buy an off-brand box of 24 crayons for just a penny at Office Max.

But ReStockIt.com sells single-subject notebooks for 90 cents, which beats the $1 price we found in some grocery stores. It's the price of convenience, apparently, because ReStockIt.com delivers the supplies right to your door. According to testimonials on its Web site, deliveries take only a couple days.

Also this year, the Texas Legislature has included school supplies in the annual sales tax holiday weekend (Aug. 21-23).

Here's a list of other deals advertised by various stores as of WED July 29, 2009:
