Procession and memorial service for HFD Capt. "Iron Bill" Dowling
Thousands of people are expected to pay tribute to former Houston Fire Capt. “Iron Bill” Dowling Wednesday morning at a public memorial. We'll stream the procession live online at about 8:45 a.m. with the public memorial service to follow at 10 a.m. Dowling died a week ago in a Colorado hospital from injuries stemming from the deadly Southwest Inn fire in 2013. Swastika cyber-attack targets major Twitter accounts
Dozens of Twitter accounts were hacked Wednesday in an apparent large-scale cyber-attack. Many of the hacked posts were in Turkish and featured a swastika and the hashtags #Nazialmanya and #Nazihollanda. Among the affected Twitter accounts were the European Parliament, UNICEF USA, BBC North America and boxer Floyd Mayweather’s promotional account. Tap here to read more.
Trump questions acquisition of 2005 tax return
President Trump on Wednesday questioned the origins of a leaked tax return that showed he paid $38 million on more than $150 million of reported income in 2005. "Does anybody really believe that a reporter, who nobody ever heard of, 'went to his mailbox' and found my tax returns?" Trump tweeted the morning after MSNBC disclosed two pages of the 2005 return. Texas Senate tentatively approves bathroom bill
After four and a half hours of debate, the Texas Senate voted to tentatively pass Senate Bill 6 (SB6), commonly known as the bathroom bill, Tuesday.Senator Lois Kolkhorst's (R-Brenham) bill will require people go by the sex on their birth certificate when using restrooms, locker rooms and showers in government owned facilities and public schools and universities. In Mosul, ISIS is in disarray and surrounded
