HOUSTION –- Police said early Thursday four people were sent to the hospital in serious condition after the car they were in sped through a red light and hit a tree in north Houston.
A fifth person in the car ran away before police arrived, witnesses said.
According to the Houston Police Department, the crash happened on E. Parker near Nordling around 1:30 a.m. Police said the car was traveling east on E. Parker when he went through a red light and struck a couple of curbs before swerving out of control. The vehicle then slammed into a tree, knocking it down.
Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
