BACLIFF, Texas — Four suspects accused of plotting and carrying out an armed robbery at a game room were charged late Saturday night, officials said.

Jovan Wesby, 33, of Houston, was charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a count of felon in possession of a firearm and a count of felony evading arrest, according to a sheriff’s office news release. Total bond for Wesby was set at $1,370,000, according to the release.

Michael McFarland, 25, of Houston, and Terry Robinson, 33, of Webster, were charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, and both their bonds were set at $160,000, according to the release.

Larry Adams, 32, of Houston, was charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, and bond was set at $320,000, according to the release.

Employees of Keno Castle, 129 Grand Ave., in Bacliff, reported about 2:30 p.m. several men walked in and took cash at gunpoint from the business and three patrons, then drove off in a blue Chevrolet sedan, Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo, a sheriff’s office spokesman, said.

Sheriff’s deputies signaled a car to stop traveling west on FM 646 that matched the suspect’s description, and when it didn’t, a chase ensued, Tuttoilmondo said.

The driver, later identified as Wesby, struck three cars between state Highway 3 and West Walker Street in League City before spinning out of control into a ditch off FM 646 just east of Interstate 45, according to the release. No injuries were reported from the crashes, Tuttoilmondo said.

Wesby and passenger McFarland were arrested after their car wrecked, according to the release.

Sheriff’s deputies at Keno Castle accused Adams and Robinson, who initially were thought to have been victims, of helping carry out the robbery, and the two were arrested at the game room, according to the release.

Officials found two pistols and $5,000 along FM 646 near FM 270, which sheriff’s deputies chasing the Chevrolet saw being thrown out of the car during the pursuit, Tuttoilmondo said.

Sheriff’s officials believe the robbery was planned, Tuttoilmondo said Saturday.
