HOUSTON -- Charges have been filed against three suspects arrested in the death of an elderly man found at 1326 Roper around 8 a.m. on Monday.
Celestino S. Flores, 74, was found dead inside his home in southeast Houston. He suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Erick Eduardo Hernandez, 18, and the victim’s 19-year-old grandson Gragary Thomas Flores, are charged with capital murder. A third suspect, a juvenile male, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on the same charge.
A preliminary investigation determined the back door of the residence had been forced open and Flores' vehicle, a 2003 green Ford Explorer, and several other items had been stolen.
The vehicle was recovered early Tuesday in Alvin, Texas, by the Alvin Police Department. At least three unidentified males, who were inside the vehicle, were detained by Alvin PD for questioning.
Further investigation identified Hernandez, Flores and the juvenile male as the suspects in this case. Hernandez and Flores are currently being held by the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office and are awaiting transfer to the Harris County Jail.
