HOUSTON – Three male teens were taken into custody overnight after a home invasion and robbery south of downtown, Houston police said.
It all happened around midnight Monday.
The young men are accused of trying to break into a home where they fired one gunshot through the front door. They left and went to another home where they managed to get in and fill their bags with electronics and coins, police said.
A description of the suspects was put out, and a Houston Police Department officer spotted the teens running across 288 near Southmore.
Police said when the officer attempted to stop them, they dropped the bags and fled to some houses at Dowling. K-9 units and a helicopter assisted in the search, and all three were apprehended.
One suspect was bitten by the police dog and was treated at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
