FORT BEND COUNTY, TEXAS - The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office confirms a triple fatal shooting Tuesday night was the result of an apparent murder-suicide, but the investigation into the motive continues.
The sheriff's office says two family members, Edris Edris, 24, and Sofya Ali, 33, died as result of apparent gunshot wounds. A third family member, Ali Edris, 58, suffered wounds and was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The incident occurred at a home in the 8200 block of Aliso Canyon Lane.
A preliminary investigation indicates Edris Edris and Sofya Ali were fatally shot by Ali Edris before he turned the gun on himself, the sheriff's office says. Deputies say the male victim was the shooter's son.
The county sheriff says an 8-year-old family member witnessed the shootings, and he ran to a neighbor's for help.
“He was an eyewitness to this - try to determine what he saw, and of course they will be making contact with friends and family to determine what was the relationship between the individuals,” said Sheriff Troy Nehls shortly after the crime occurred.
Authorities arrived to find a woman and man already dead inside the home. The third person, later identified as the shooter, was taken to the hospital by Life Flight and died.
The boy who witnessed the shootings was not hurt and is now staying with family members, authorities say.
