HOUSTON – Police arrested a woman in connection with a hit and run crash that killed three people early Saturday morning.
Police say Raquel Vazquez Hernandez, 23, sped through a red light and slammed into the victim's car at Woodridge and the South Loop in southeast Houston.
Police say Hernandez and her passengers fled the scene.
According to the victim's families, Allyssa Munoz and her brother, Brett Suarez died in the crash. A third person was also killed but hasn't yet been identified.
According to relatives, Munoz was a mother, who leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
"I just want everybody to know about Alyssa, she was a very loving mother," said Elsa Munoz, Allyssa's mother-in-law. "This was a cowardly act."
Several people were also injured in the crash, including Munoz's sister.
Two of the victims, who died, were children of members of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department.
