HOUSTON – Three armed bank robbers stormed a Woodlands Chase Branch on Panther Creek Friday at about 12:15 p.m.

A sign on the front door stated that due to an emergency the branch was temporarily closed until Monday, June 30th.

Investigators said the gunmen stormed the bank while at least three customers were inside.  Each robber was armed, wearing a ball cap, long sleeved dark shirts, pants, gloves, and had rags covering their faces.  They ordered everyone onto the floor.  Authorities called it a takeover-style robbery and gained access to the vault.

No shots were fired, no one was hurt and it’s not clear how much money the crooks escaped with.

The getaway vehicle was found nearby on Interfaith Avenue still running.  It was a gold Dodge pickup stolen out of Houston, deputies said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000 reward in the case.
