HOUSTON -- A crash between a sport utility vehicle and a car sent two drivers to the hospital late Tuesday in north Houston, police said.
Officers with the Houston Police Department said they were called to the North Freeway frontage road at Rankin around 9:30 p.m. after a Hummer and a small sedan collided at the intersection.
The drivers, both women, were sent to the hospital in stable condition. Neither car had any passengers.
Investigators said the Hummer was traveling east on Rankin when it turned left onto the frontage road in front of a car traveling westbound. The vehicles hit head-on, sending the sedan into a nearby concrete pillar. The driver of the sedan had to be extracted from the vehicle by firefighters.
Police did not immediately determine who was at fault in the crash.
