HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- According to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies, the two Atascocita children that were missing Friday night are safe with their grandparents and their father is in police custody.

An Amber Alert was issued for Faith Adams, 2, and Heidi Adams, 4, after they had been taken by their father Charles Adams, 31, hours after he pistol whipped their mother.

Adams was believed to be holding the young children inside a home in Atascocita and a brief SWAT standoff occurred. When they entered the home, Adams was gone.

Admas was later found and the children were safe with their grandparents. One of the siblings had minor injuries.

Their mother was reportedly in good condition and being treated at the hospital.
