HOUSTON -- Two men are in custody and another is on the run after they allegedly held up a restaurant worker for what they believed was a bag full of cash, police said.

It happened shortly before midnight Wednesday outside the Popeyes on Imperial Valley at N. Sam Houston Parkway.

According to Houston police, three men jumped the store’s manager as she left the restaurant.

The men took the cash bag she was carrying, but all that was inside were checks and receipts. The men also took personal items from the woman.

Police quickly arrived, and witnesses pointed the officers in the direction the suspects went.

Police set up a perimeter and eventually found two of the suspects hiding in a nearby apartment complex. The third man was not located.

No injuries were reported.
