HOUSTON – Two people were killed in a rollover crash early Sunday on the Hardy Toll Road in north Houston, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a white 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse was heading south in the 26900 block of the West Hardy Road at 12:15 a.m. when the vehicle began to drift from the roadway.
The driver of the Eclipse tried to return to the roadway, but lost control of the car, deputies said. The car struck the end a concrete culvert, which caused the vehicle to roll over.
The drive and the front seat passenger were ejected from the vehicle, deputies said. Both died at the scene of the crash.
There was a passenger in the back seat of the Eclipse, who was able to climb out of the vehicle after the crash, deputies said.
The passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained in the crash, deputies said.
