Houston – Charges have been filed against two men who killed a bar patron after he came to the aid of a woman being pestered on the dance floor, according to Houston police.
Richard Longoria, 23, and Matthew Longoria, 19, were charged with murder.
Jesus Geraldo Solis, 39, was gunned down at Vara’s Sports Bar in the 2700 block of the North Freeway on June 30.
According to witnesses, three men entered the bar and one of them attempted to force a woman to dance with him.
Solis stepped in, telling the men that the woman had a boyfriend at the bar. That is when one of the suspects went outside and retrieved a handgun. He came back inside the bar, confronted Solis, then shot him in the leg.
When Solis tried to walk away, the suspect shot him several more times.
Solis died at the scene.
The suspects then fled the scene in a silver sedan, but police eventually tracked them down.
Neither suspect was given any bond.
