GALVESTON, Texas – A man and a woman were arrested Thursday after they were accused of operating a marijuana grow house out of their Galveston residence, police said.

According to the Galveston Police Department, Ramiro Garza and Barbara Garza, were both charged with possession of marijuana, a third degree felony.

Detectives seized more than 13 pounds of marijuana and nearly $14,000 in cash when they raided the suspect home, located in the 4700 block of Ave R ½.

The raid was part of a joint investigation with GPD’s Vice and Narcotics Division, University of Texas Medical Branch Police Department and GPD’s Patrol Division.

Both Garzas have bonds assessed at $100,000 a piece.
