HOUSTON -- Firefighters reported hearing explosions at a two-alarm apartment fire in north Houston early Friday morning.
The fire was reported just before 5:30 a.m. on Fletcher at Carl just north of downtown.
Some kind of explosion was reported in the back of the apartment complex during the fire, and several families were evacuated. Firefighters had to stop their search for residents and were pulled out of the building due to the intense flames.
Despite reports that someone may have been trapped in the blaze, a later search of the apartment building determined everyone made it out safe.
Aerial views from Air 11 showed most of the fire was knocked out by 6:15 a.m.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
